Maciej Dakowicz (© Maciej Dakowicz) is a documentary photographer and a master of the truly “street” genre. The Pole, who moved to live in the UK, but did not stay long anywhere, became famous for the provocative and even scandalous series of works by Cardiff after Dark, which he shot in 2009. Photographs published in 2012 as a separate book are an impassive reportage from the streets of English Cardiff, where after sunset young residents of the city have fun in bars and pubs, sometimes completely “losing face”. Alcoholic chronicles of the British fun almost shook the foundations of the Crown and sparked a heated public discussion. In many respects, this is the merit of the author of the pictures – witty, ruthlessly noticing details with his sharp eye, able to build the composition so that the viewer grasps the point at one point. PETER LINDBERG – BEAUTY PROMOTIONAL WITHOUT RETOUSH
The legendary photographer of the fashion industry was born on November 23, 1944 in the Polish city of Leszno. Soon after the birth of the child, the family moved to western Germany. Peter’s childhood passed in Duisburg. This port city left a big mark in the soul of the photographer. Lindbergh grew up, observing a certain harmony and coexistence of industrial areas and unspoiled natural landscapes. Later this will be reflected in his work.
Peter is interested in painting, he attends an art school, and after that, enters the Krefeld Institute of Arts. He manages to participate in art exhibitions with his artwork. Gradually, the young man’s interest switches to photography, and in 1971 Lindbergh got his first camera. He starts off as an assistant photographer Hans Lux. After 2 years, he moved to Dusseldorf and received the status of an independent photographer. Continue reading
STEVEN MAYZEL IN FASHION PHOTOS AND SHE IN IT
One of the most famous commercial photographers of our time, Steven Meisel was born on June 5, 1954 in New York. Since childhood, his eccentricity has become noticeable close. Stephen combined the Anglo-Irish descent of his mother and the Russian-Jewish roots of his father. When he was 3 years old, the family moved to Wisconsin, where he spent his childhood as a future photographer. The boy’s father worked in show business, so Meisel got to know the backstage early.
After graduating from high school, Stephen went to study at the Parsons School of Design as a fashion illustrator. His talent was quickly noticed, and Meisel began his career at the Halston fashion house, and then at Women Wear Daily. Continue reading
